Ashley has worked across the planning and transport industry for around 4 years, and has gained experience in both the private and public sectors. He has a research background in promoting sustainable transport through strategies and policies to promote a greater usage in public transport, walking and cycling. In July 2018, Ashley was awarded his PhD from the University of Birmingham in Sustainable Transport Planning.
He has a passion for challenging the status quo of the planning system. He does this by introducing policies that make people and planners think different about spaces and places in order to improve the social wellbeing of communities and promote carbon reduction.
